There were more than 300 participating companies representing 32 countries, and over 25 leading industry speakers at the expo.

The show, which was inaugurated by YB Dato Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Malaysia, was supported by The Federation of Livestock Farmers’ Associations of Malaysia (FLFAM), the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA), World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) and Veterinary Association of Malaysia.

The three-day event had several exhibitions, seminars, co-located conferences as well as an ASEAN Product Registration Seminar that offered participants insights to the various regulations for livestock in ASEAN nations.

A major highlight at the show was the Asia Meatec Conference, which covered topics such as World Perspective Towards Meat Industry, Trends in Southeast Asia’s Poultry Meat Industry, and Adoption of Food Safety Measures and Halal Perspective.

The global readiness of the livestock industry in the ASEAN region, in a bid to establish the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), was explored at the show.
