One of the leading global agricultural sciences company, FMC Corporation, has become the first within the agricultural industry in the Philippines to introduce an Augmented Reality (AR) game which aims to promote stewardship among farmers in a novel way
The FMC AR game is the latest edition to FMC Phillippines’ ‘FMC on Wheels’ initiative, a multi-purpose vehicle that brings training and crop advisory services right to the farmers’ doorsteps.
The stewardship game allows players to adopt a farmer persona, encouraging them to choose the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that coincides with their choice of FMC products all the while sharing information about proper use and dosage. The gamer will also learn about harmful insects and combat the pests in a game to win small prizes including water tumblers and sun protection sleeves.
Veronica Tiburcio, FMC Philippines country manager, said, “FMC on Wheels is a unique learning platform that reaches farmers anytime and anywhere, promoting the benefits FMC’s innovative solutions can bring. The addition of the AR game is a differentiated value-add that not only allows us to deepen our engagement with farmers, but to share product knowledge while encouraging good agriculture practices.”
FMC on Wheels travels across the country gathering farmers together for a mini exhibition of crops both untreated and treated with FMC technology, alongside educational talks on agricultural practices and a showcase of FMC products all within a single vehicle.
Since its inaugural demonstration in 2022, FMC on Wheels has reached more than 15,000 farmers in the Philippines.
