Animal nutrition company Biomin’s premix plant at Binh Duong in Vietnam has been awarded the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP+B1) certification, becoming the first and only premix facility to do so in the country

The GMP+ B1 Feed Certification scheme requires that the company is compliant with the standards required for the following — quality management, personnel, premises and equipment, documentation, production, quality control, contract manufacturing and analysis, complaints and product recall, and self-inspection.

Jan Vanbrabant, managing director of Biomin Asia Pacific said, “We are very proud to be the first premix-producing company in Vietnam to be certified according to the international quality standards of GMP+ B1, which reflects the robustness of our feed safety system.

“This certificate further confirms the quality and safety of our products, and highlights our commitment to deliver quality products to our customers.”

The GMP certification is based on the requirements of the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme. With the certification, Biomin’s facility meets the highest industry standards available.

The certification audit was performed by SGS Vietnam Limited, who confirmed that Biomin Vietnam has attained an overall acceptable level of compliance with the GMP+ B1 Feed Certification scheme in the Feed Safety Assurance module. This encompasses all the recommendations of the FAO in relation to GMP.

The premix facility opened in 2013 and has a fully-automated production system with a capacity of of 6.5 tonnes per hour.
