62 agri scientists recognised by Farmer Union at fourth honouring ceremony in Vietnam

Speaking at the opening ceremony on 10 December, vice chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmer Union and head of the Programme Organising Committee, Bui Thi Thom, emphasised that throughout the process of renovation and integration, the Party and State had always affirmed that agriculture, farmers and rural areas had been playing an important role in socio-economic development

The Resolution of the fifth plenum of the 13th Central Committee of the Party on 'agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045' proposed solutions to create breakthroughs in research and application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. It also encouraged training human resources in agriculture and rural areas, emphasising solutions to promote links and cooperation between institutes, schools, enterprises, cooperatives and farmers.

Bui Thi Thom highlighted the importance of scientists and farmers having a close connection for effectiveness in the process of developing the agricultural economy. The 62 agricultural scientists who were honoured and 12 farmers who received the prize in the agricultural technology innovation contest are advanced examples, representing their intelligence, creativity, enthusiasm, commitment and co-operation.
