Nutriad aims for a bigger pie in Indian aquaculture market

Nutriad, a Belgian company specialising in species specific additive solutions for fish and shrimp, is making its presence felt in the India. The company has sponsored Aqua India 2018, a bi-annual event organised by the Indian society of aquaculture professionals (SAP). The event, held in Chennai, attracted industry professionals from all over India in the wake of a strong growth year after the country closed in on the global leader position in shrimp production. 

Aquaculture nutritionists, feed formulators and technical service providers working in feed companies along with researchers and academics in aquaculture nutrition and feed technology attended the event. Discussions were held on progress in aquaculture nutrition research and practice, ingredient knowledge and feed formulation, the use of feed additives including organic selenium, enzymes and amino acids, and the need for education in aquaculture nutrition.

Alexander van Halteren, business development manager of aquaculture nutrition, presented a paper titled, “Balancing nutrient levels in commercial shrimp feeds."

The company boasts of four application laboratories and five manufacturing facilities in three continents.
