Cologne hosts FIAAP/VICTAM/GRAPAS

The FIAAP/VICTAM/GRAPAS exhibition concluded in Cologne, Germany in June 2015, and was considered a success by visitors, exhibitors and organisers alike

Global industry executives from the animal feed, flour and rice milling, grain processing and biomass pelleting industries participated in the show that was held at KoelnMesse from 9-11 June. There was a total of 276 exhibitors at the show, according to the organisers.

Some companies emerged winners at various award functions held during the show. At the GRAPAS Awards, Alapala from Turkey and Buhler AG from Switzerland were heralded joint winners. France’s Tovalia Intelscan won the The Aquafeed Innovation Award and the FIAAP Animal Nutrition Award was bagged by Adifo from Belgium.

During the three-day show, a host of conferences such as the FIAAP Conference, Aquafeed Horizons, AEBIOM Pellet Workshop, Petfood Forum Europe 2015, GMP+International Feed Safety Assurance certificate, the IFF Feed Conference and the Global Milling Conference with GRAPAS International 2015 were conducted.

For the first time, FEFAC (the European Feed Manufacturers Federation) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) during the event and their members joined the exhibition as well.

VICTAM turns 50:

Aside from being a place for important meetings, the show was a landmark one, for VICTAM celebrated its 50th anniversary with a celebration dinner for 500 guests at the flora and botanical gardens in Cologne. During the dinner, Andre Oosterveld, president of the Victam Foundation thanked the guests for their continued support of the exhibitions and praised the exhibitors for their professional and innovative stands, as well as the enormous and varied amount of products on display.

Henk van de Bunt, general manager of Victam International BV announced that a new venture would be launched by the organisation in conjunction with conference organisers in the summer of 2017 in Cologne. There would also be an additional area, where companies will have table-top exhibits.

With FIAAP, VICTAM & GRAPAS Asia 2014 being a success, van de Bunt added that Bangkok would again be the venue for the 2016 edition of the show. The event will be conducted at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 29-31 March 2016.
