DLG announces winners of Agritechnica Innovation Awards 2023

Organiser of Agritechnica, DLG (German agricultural society) on 26 September announced the gold and silver medal winners of the Agritechnica Innovation Awards 2023

Out of the 251 entries received by the leading innovation award scheme in the agricultural machinery industry, a total of 218 were approved for the list of exhibition innovations. One out of these received a gold medal, while 17 others received a silver medal. Selections were made based on a number of criteria including the practical significance of the innovation at farm level, work load reduction, improvement on the environment and energy consumption, improved health and safety, operating profitability and efficiency benefits, among others. 

Following are the list of medals awarded to the winning innovators: 

  • Gold medal: 
  1. Awarded to New Holland – a brand of CNH, for the overall concept of CR twin axial rotor combine harvester, comprising of a diesel-electric drive that has succeeded in integrating a range of additional functions into tractor technology.
  •  Silver medals: 
  1.  STEYR Tractoren – a brand of CNH bags this award for its STEYR Hybrid CVT
  2.  New Holland is once again awarded for its revolutionary T4 Electric Power fully-electric, automated utility tractor, which offers increased work efficiency with a high level of safety at the same time.
  3.  Wilhelm Stoll Maschinenfabrik GmbH is presented with a silver medal for its Telescopic front loader
  4.  New Holland being the first manufacturer to present a gas tractor with LNG tanks, yet again receives an award for its T7.270 Methane Power (LNG)
  5.  CLAAS KGaA is awarded for its multi-dimensional three-point power lift regulation for tractors
  6.  SAPHIR Maschinenbau GmbH was awarded for its product GrindStar for bringing together the advantages of mulchers and harrows in its significant further development of a familiar process. 
  7.  ALL-IN-ONE GmbH received the award for its rotating ridge former, which enables uniformly shaped potato ridges to be produced in an energy-saving manner. 
  8.  Zunhammer GmbH was awarded for its ECO-Duo Vario system which represents a significant further development in the area of liquid manure spreading technology.
  9.  Amazonen-Werke H. Dreyer SE & Co. KG was awarded for its CurveControl for centrifugal spreaders which for the first time enabled the spreading pattern to be adjusted on cornering with the CurveControl system.
  10.  CASE IH‘s Forward Looking Feedrate Radar for Axial-Flow Combine, won an award for its ability to increase combine harvester output, operating reliability and therefore efficiency.
  11.  GRIMME Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG was awarded for its interchangeable separator ‘ChangeSep’ because of its ability to be changed with little effort and without special technical equipment, indicating an evolution of separator technology 
  12.  Shaktiman GRIMME Root Crop Sol. Pvt Ltd’s Potato windrower with SmartFold, won the award for its valuable contribution to increasing both work quality and work rate, and therefore food security. 
  13.  Maschinenfabrik Bernard Krone has produced a grinding device without manual readjustment for forage harvesters, which won the award for its ability to improve harvester efficiency, increase ease of maintenance, which in turn relieves the driver’s or the mechanic’s workload. 
  14.  Fendt AGCO GmbH was presented an award for its automatic conditioner adjustment which comprises of an AI that relieves the driver’s workload, reduces set-up times and enables consistent and cost-effective work.
  15.  LEMKEN GmbH & Co. KG received an award for its iQblue tool monitoring signifying an important further development in the autonomisation of work processes.
  16.  Radicle Agronomics from Precision Planting LLC, was presented with an award for providing the farmer with soil sample results that enable him to make quick and informed decisions, thus marking a significant evolution of the soil sampling process for precision farming.
  17.  AgXeed B.V. in collaboration with CLAAS KGaA mbH received an award for their 3A – Advanced Automation and Autonomy, a product which  represents significant progress in digitalisation in crop production in the direction of autonomous field robots.
