The 37th edition of SPACE, the International Livestock Exhibition, is set to be a major highlight of the agricultural season, focusing on the dynamics of animal farming

Taking place in Rennes, Western France from 12-14 September 2023, this event is essential for professionals to gather information, exchange ideas, and find new synergies to develop and adapt animal farming in the region.

The event comes at a time of rising energy costs, generational renewal, high agricultural product prices, and the impact of climate change. These factors make SPACE even more crucial in providing solutions and addressing the structural changes within the agricultural sector.

The international context is also evolving, with the war in Ukraine affecting agricultural policies and raising concerns about food sovereignty. SPACE's international scope, welcoming over 120 countries annually, demonstrates its ability to offer solutions to the global food challenge. Delegations from Europe, the Middle East, and Western and Central Africa are expected to attend.

With almost 1,100 exhibitors from 36 countries, including 177 new ones, SPACE provides a platform for companies to showcase their expertise and innovations in animal farming. The event covers various sectors, including energy and environmental solutions, research and development, start-ups, and future-oriented spaces.

SPACE's Innov'Space competition highlights innovation across livestock sectors, with awards serving as a quality seal for the industry. Exhibitors have shown great interest in this label, and the 2023 prize-winners will be announced in July. Additionally, the Tech'Agri Challenge focuses on innovation at the intersection of agriculture and the digital sector, promoting research and innovation among Breton students.

The event will feature competitions, breed presentations, auctions, and conferences covering a wide range of topics. This year, SPACE expands its presence in aquaculture, offering dedicated itineraries, conferences, and visits for international visitors.

In addition to the livestock-focused activities, SPACE will celebrate SOLAAL's 10th anniversary. SOLAAL is an association fighting poverty and food waste in the agricultural world, and they will collaborate with the Food Banks to collect and donate milk at the event.

Next year's SPACE 2024 will take place from 17-19 September.
