World Sustainable Agriculture Congress held in Singapore


A New Holland TT75 tractor01The World Sustainable Agriculture Congress at Singapore focused on the latest farming technologies, sustainable agriculture initiatives, ecosystem-based approaches and farm mechanisation, among other topics

The Congress was supported by global manufacturer and seller of agricultural equipment, New Holland, who were associate sponsors for the event.

The associate sponsor opened the session on 'Next Generation Crop Technologies for Sustainable Agricultural Production' where New Holland Fiat India Crop Solutions head Gaurav Sood presented an insight into the benefits of mechanised sugarcane harvesting and biomass collection.

New Holland's Clean Energy Leader initiative has concentrated on biodiesel, low-emission technologies, biomass, energy independent farm concept, NH2 hydrogen tractor and reduction of carbon footprint.

The company has also been supporting sugarcane and biomass projects in India, to improve productivity, while enhancing sustainable agricultural practices. New Holland's projects highlight how well-planned agricultural mechanisation could contribute to raising the economic, environmental and social conditions of rural areas.

The World Sustainable Agriculture Congress was held from July 11-12, 2012.
