Evonik’s presence at the China Feed Expo, a trade fair for the feed industry in China – from 18-20 April in Chongqing – will be entirely devoted to health and sustainability
Evonik will present solutions for modern animal nutrition that efficiently meet animal needs and result in high-quality products.
“The recent outbreak of African swine fever has impacted the animal protein production in China,” said Holger Kinzel, head of the Asia North Region of Evonik’s Animal Nutrition business line. “That's why there is now all the more interest in solutions that increase productivity in the barn and keep the animals healthy.”
Evonik has a wide range of products and services in its portfolio for this purpose. Probiotics, for example, can improve the intestinal health of livestock. “They can help replace the use of growth-promoting antibiotics,” said Torben Madsen, head of the Sustainable Healthy Nutrition Product Line. Evonik’s solution for poultry is GutCare and the product for pigs is GutPlus.
GuanAMINO, a new guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) product from Evonik, supports the energy metabolism of livestock. It improves feed conversion and animal performance. “So far, GAA has been used primarily in broilers and pigs, but ruminants and fish also benefit from supplementation with guanidinoacetic acid based on scientific researches,” stated Madsen.
Barn conditions also influence animal performance. With Porphyrio, Evonik offers one of the leading digital solutions for precision livestock farming (PLF) and nutrition in poultry.
AMINONIR Portable, a new mobile near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) service from Evonik, is the first in the world that can also analyse amino acids - independently of a laboratory, within minutes. The mobile device allows rapid on-site quality checks to make informed decisions at critical points in feed production, saving time and money.
The basis for precise animal nutrition is Evonik’s AMINODat database, version 6.0 of which is now available for the first time as a web application. This allows the data to be updated several times a year. AMINODat 6.0 now includes quality parameters such as biogenic amines and antinutritional ingredients in addition to amino acid profiles of raw materials and information on proximates such as fat, fibre, and energy.
“High-quality feed raw materials are the basis for healthy animal nutrition,” added Kinzel.
Evonik’s Animal Nutrition business line will be presenting all these innovations, and much more, in Chongqing (Booth No. N4-A08).
