Marel Poultry to present a cutting edge showcase at VIV Asia 2017

i cut 122 largeMarel Poultry has announced that it will present a unique live cut-up and deboning demonstration and showcase its latest innovations in poultry processing at VIV Asia 2017

The company will demonstrate a unique live demonstration at the show with an in-house cutting expert demonstrating Marel’s cut up and deboning systems. This setup will clarify processes more than the equipment itself could possibly do; it is fairly unfeasible to reveal the real mechanical operations, even when using running machines with open panels.

By manually mimicking the movements of cut up and deboning equipment, Marel Poultry aims to demonstrate the high level of specialised research, development, engineering and application to execute processes such as thigh deboning.

The live cutting demonstration also reflects the trend to automation as a means to improve quality, hygiene and food safety. The demonstrated manual processes are so complicated, that processing plants would need a large amount of skilled labourers to achieve them. However, there is a global shortage of such expert work force, which also explains the need for automation.

The company will also showcase its poultry processing systems including the world's first inline high-capacity thigh filleting solution, the AMF-i breast cap filleting process, the Stork Second Joint Wing Cutter HY which processes this traditional Asian cut and the Marel I-Cut 122 Portion Cutter, a dual-lane portioner designed for cutting boneless, non-frozen poultry products to fixed weight or uniform dimensions.
