The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has implemented regulations 248 and 249 on the registration of import-export enterprises to China and food safety management through online forums and face-to-face conferences

At the same time, it has removed some challenges and obstacles for businesses. Up to now, Chinese Customs has issued 435 import-export business registration codes under Order 248. MARD has also provided more than 2,000 codes for planting areas and 1,438 codes for packing establishments for agricultural products exported to China, according to order 249.

These changes will affect both China and the Vietnamese government’s requirements, focusing on official export and building raw material areas to ensure products meet standards for domestic consumption and export. MARD has directed functional units of the Ministry, especially the Plant Protection Department to quickly and effectively deploy, strictly manage the granting of planting area codes to localities.

According to To Ngoc Son, deputy director of the Asia-Africa Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, businesses need to increase the application of high technology in production, processing and preservation; build a team of staff fluent in the market and languages; carefully study the needs and development trends of the market; and focus on brand building and brand protection.
