The 2020 Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit will take place virtually on 18-20 November
Building resilience post-COVID-19 is just one of the challenges facing the region already at the height of climate change and population growth, forcing farmers, food brands and governments to take notice of new sustainable solutions to tackle soil health, crop resilience, localised food production, obesity and diabetes.
From digital technologies that support smallholder farmers in the region to new frontiers in urban agriculture, alternative proteins, health and nutrition, the summit will address the most important challenges and opportunities in the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food system.
The summit, organised by the UK-based Rethink Events, will feature the following keynote speakers, among others:
-Alvin Tan, minister of state, Ministry of trade and industry, Singapore
-Qu Dongyu, director general, Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), China
-Sir John Phillip Key, former prime minister, New Zealand
-Lim Kok Thai, CEO, Singapore Food Agency (SFA), Singapore
-Ted Tan, deputy CEO, Enterprise Singapore, Singapore
-Robin Hu, head of sustainability and stewardship group, Temasek, Singapore
-Florian Schattenmann, chief technology officer and vice-president for Innovation and Research & Development (R&D), CARGILL, USA.
