Animal feed machinery demonstrations and showcase of grain milling equipment and systems dominated the Victam Asia, FIAAP Asia and Grapas Asia, three co-located trade shows, held in the effervescent Thai capital Bangkok recently.
Representatives of the feed and grain sectors from various companies across the globe took part in the 2012 edition of the trade show that deals exclusively with grain processing and the manufacture of animal feeds.
The event witnessed scores of new product launches and a series of conferences at the event including The FIAAP Asia Conference 2012, Petfood Forum Asia 2012, Biomass – Pellets Update Asia, Aquafeed Horizons Asia 2012, The Thai Feed Conference, GMP+ seminar Feed safety and sustainability in the global market.
A range of products and services, including mills, upgrades to existing systems or formulation programmes and re-conditioned equipment were showcased at Victam Asia, regions’s largest exhibition for animal feed specialists and for the ancillary equipment and technology. Nutritionists and formulators also attended the event to see how the new technology would impact current formulations.
Technology for biomass pelleting was also showcased at the Victam. Biomass pellets are processed from organic waste and are used as alternative source for green energy. This heat source is becoming more important throughout the world as conventional energy supplies become harder and increasingly expensive to extract. Many of the major companies which provide pellet mills for feed plants, who were at the show, discussed their biomass pelleting technology.
The Grapas show profiled the latest technology and systems for rice and flour milling, grain processing, preservation, storage and movement, and noodle, breakfast cereal and extruded snack production. Major international players displayed the latest equipment used in these processes.
A number of companies that supply ancillary equipment for the feed, biomass and grain industries—with equipment ranging from silos, conveyors, bagging machines, magnetic systems, quality control, computers and programmes and trucks— participated in the Grapas.
