The Antimicrobial Resistance Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) project in Indonesia has been successfully completed through collaboration between the Indonesian Government and the FAO-WHO-WOAH Tripartite

An official statement from the World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that the project involved the Agriculture Ministry, the Health Ministry, and the Tripartite consisting of WHO, FAO, and WOAH. The completion of the AMR MPTF project in Indonesia was announced during a national workshop.

Since 2021, the FAO-WHO-WOAH Tripartite has been instrumental in helping Indonesia manage antimicrobial resistance (AMR) using the One Health approach. The project's collective efforts from 2021 to 2023 contributed to the implementation of Indonesia's National Action Plan for AMR Control (2020-2024).

The project's main focus was to strengthen the antimicrobial use (AMU) system and reduce AMR by promoting responsible antimicrobial use through antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) and improving infection prevention and control (IPC-WASH) in critical sectors along the antimicrobial distribution chain for human and animal health.

In 2022, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) joined the partnership, forming a Quadripartite (FAO, WHO, WOAH, and UNEP) to enhance environmental sector support for AMR prevention in Indonesia.
