The Philippines has witnessed growth in farm production, with poultry and hog sectors clocking in the maximum numbers in Q3 2015

The Philippines Statistics Authority (PSA) stated that livestock contributed 18.45 per cent of total farm production. Of the livestock sectors, poultry production contributed 17.23 per cent to gross agricultural output. Chicken production grew 8.77 per cent, while chicken eggs grew up 9.91 per cent.

Meanwhile, hog registered the most growth with a 3.76 per cent increase in this quarter alone, added PSA.

Despite the devastating effects of the El Nino, the Southeast Asian nation has managed to show growth in farm production, concluded the PSA. While agriculture production has taken a hit, livestock production has sustained in the Philippines this quarter.
