Malaysian firm Astino Agro-House Multi System is building typhoon-resistant houses in the Philippines and developing poultry homes for the country
Aside from completing projects in Luzon, Astino is rolling out projects in Cagayan de Oro and General Santos.
By providing housing solutions, Astino can help Filipino farmers increase their productivity and profits. The company works on projects such as poultry houses, swine houses and warehouses that can withstand the effects of climate change. According to Astino, a state-of-the-art poultry house designed by them can withstand 250 km per hour winds and last nearly 20 years.
The establishment of solid structures for livestock could go a long way in retaining their well-being. Astino’s prefabricated houses could reduce mortality rate of chickens by five per cent and maintain temperature levels due to insulated layers.
