The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) has devised a Camera Systems project team to resolve the issue surrounding incompatibility of using camera systems with each other and with ISOBUS universal terminals in cab displays

ISOBUS standardises the communication between tractors, mobile systems and farm management systems. The AEF is essentially responsible for bringing the ISOBUS to life.

The team has prepared a set of AEF international guidelines, which can help users connect with ISOBUS terminals and other displays regardless of the supplier or brand, and allow them greater flexibility during the selection process and with any number of tractors and implements.

The simplication also allows for more number of camera systems to be used, which could greatly improve the extent of safety on and around tractors. This could go a long way in reducing the number of accidents, said AEF officials.

According to AEF, several agricultural machinery manufacturers have already implemented the camera guidelines.

The proposed standard of the project group – to which numerous experts from international manufacturers of tractors, implements, camera systems and plug contacts belong – describes a video interface for analog systems. In the second phase, a solution for digital systems will be drawn up.
