Hayleys Agriculture, a prominent agricultural solutions provider in Sri Lanka, has teamed up with Shizuoka Seiki Japan to introduce the latest Shizuoka circulation type grain dryer, featuring advanced Japanese technology

The primary objective behind this partnership is to enhance Sri Lanka's grain processing industry.

The Shizuoka Grain Dryer is poised to revolutionise the grain drying process, which has long been hindered by traditional drying methods employed in the local grain processing sector. Currently, a significant portion of the industry relies on sun-drying, leading to substantial grain damage during milling for consumption and low germination rates for seed purposes due to extended drying periods and inconsistent results. Additionally, the process becomes even more challenging due to its susceptibility to environmental changes.

Taking these challenges into account, Hayleys Agriculture has introduced a cutting-edge, specially designed grain drying system. This system incorporates an improved drying mechanism, reducing grain damage and ensuring uniform drying regardless of weather conditions.

The grain dryer features a customised bucket elevator and screw system, minimising mechanical damage to the grain and enhancing process consistency by facilitating even grain distribution. Another key component is an upgraded in-line grain moisture analyser, delivering highly accurate and continuous readings of drying parameters, thus enabling better process control. Moreover, the dryers boast a compact design, making installation, maintenance, and operation remarkably user-friendly.

Sumith Herath, managing director of Hayleys Agriculture and head of the SBU Agri Equipment Division, said, “Since the 1950s we have always been strongly committed to protecting and improving the agricultural industry by providing machines of the highest quality. The partnership with Shizuoka demonstrates this very commitment and we hope to continue to advance the standard of agricultural technology in Sri Lanka in the future as well.

“Sri Lankan farmers will be able to gain first-hand experience of the fine blend of dependability and dependability that Shizuoka has achieved around the world through decades of agricultural machinery manufacturing and technological advancements, as well as unparalleled customer service capabilities, Hayleys Agriculture pre and after sales products and all dryers are subject to a manufacturer’s warranty, which will be provided by Shizuoka though Hayleys Agriculture.”
