SRT Marine System Solutions has launched low-cost vessel monitoring system for sustainable fishery management and coastal security in the UK
The vessel monitoring system uses a fusion of sophisticated terrestrial and satellite AIS technologies to provide governments with a reliable, secure and practical monitoring system for their national fleets of commercial, leisure and fishing boats of any type and size.
SRT Marine System Solutions CEO Simon Tucker said, “So far, we have worked with our partners to deploy over 50,000 AIS fishing boat identifier transceivers. These are providing authorities with valuable data which is improving the life of fishermen in many ways as well as protecting our valuable fisheries.”
For less than US$1 per day per boat, authorities can obtain a complete system, inclusive of all hardware and installation that enables any vessel of any size to be monitored in real time. The GeoVS data management and viewing system enables instant custom reports and activity alerts to be generated along with the implementation of national fishing licensing and control policies.
The fusion of terrestrial and ABSEA enhanced satellite AIS data streams provide authorities with a complete picture of their maritime domain (MDA), which is display as a real-time virtual environment on the GeoVS VIEWER system.
