In an attempt to replace harmful surfactants with natural plant-based ingredients, Pangaea Biosciences Ltd. has introduced a new plant-based surfactant formulation technology to preserve soil health and biodiversity

Numerous products that are meant to protect crops end up hampering long term soil health, given the high levels of harmful surfactants that they contain. These surfactants, when sprayed on crops kill the bacteria and fungi in the soil, thereby reducing soil fertility and health.

Therefore, to reduce the use of chemicals and prevent human and environmental toxicity, Pangaea Biosciences has developed sustainably-sourced natural surfactants that are entirely plant-based.

This patented technology which has already been developed in numerous widely used products, has a long list of advantages. For example, it manages to significantly reduce the dose rate application, while also bringing down chemical loading and limiting harmful surfactants. New formulations on the other hand, help improve the stickability of the product on the leaf and penetration into the plant, resulting in better rainfastness and reducing the amount of less active ingredients reaching the soil.

According to a report by AgriBusiness Global, Pangaea is currently developing the PAN042, its latest novel formulation of the well known glyphosate herbicide
