Joris Vostermans, vice-president sales, Vostermans Ventilation, speaks exclusively with Far Eastern Agriculture about the company’s speciality
Far Eastern Agriculture (FEAG): When was Vostermans Ventilation founded and what are the main focus points of the company?
Joris Vostermans (JV): Vostermans Ventilation is a family-owned company founded in 1952, we treasure a long term perspective. Therefore we believe in focusing on a sustainable policy for all stakeholders involved. We commit ourselves to invest in people, the environment, technical innovations and of course, our customers. As a high-quality fan manufacturer- with an in-house development department and manufacturing facilities for motors and impellers- we are able to offer solutions that differentiate us from our competition.
FEAG: Tell us more about Vostermans Ventilation. What region does it cater too and what are Vostermans Ventilation’ main industries?
JV: We develop, produce and distribute axial fans and over the years, we have specialised strongly in horticultural, agricultural and industrial markets. From our four geographically locations worldwide, we are able to facilitate the needs of our customers in the best way. We have offices in the US, China, Malaysia and the Netherlands.
FEAG: What are the main challenges faced by livestock producers, and how are your products helping to address them?
JV: Optimal climate for plant or animal. We facilitate an optimal environment where the plant or animal is in their comfort zone. In the agricultural sector, ventilation is essential for animal welfare. That is why we subject our fans to heavy, extensive testing programmes. This way, we can guarantee reliability even under severe conditions. Next to that, energy consumption is becoming more and more important.
FEAG: Are there any current or recent projects/contracts/news updates you are working on, which you would like to highlight?
JV: As we speak, we are building a complete new Vostemans Ventilation factory in the Netherlands. It includes a 10,000sqm surface. This development will facilitate our further growth and will support us to become that specialist in air for our partners.
FEAG: Please tell us about strategies that have helped to improve the brand identity?
JV: We are investing in staying the specialist in air for our partners. We want to add value with our knowledge and service.
FEAG: What importance do you attach to service and support?
JV: Servitization is key. We, as a quality fan manufacturer, need to add value to our service. We can build on years of experience and knowledge that we are happy to share with our customers. In addition, we have an extensive worldwide dealer network for all further (local) support.
FEAG: Is anything else that you would like to add?
JV: As mentioned energy consumption is becoming more important. In our Multifan assortment, we focus on the development of energy-efficient fans with the ECplus and Vplus technology. These technologies combine excellent performance and robust quality with significant energy savings. Our axial fans, therefore, ensure a good return on investment.
