IPM ESSEN, the worlds leading horticultural trade fair is scheduled to take place for the 40th time from 23-26 January 2024 in Essen, Germany


The event will feature more than 1,400 exhibitors from around 50 nations showcasing their innovations in the exhibition areas of plants, technology, forestry and garden. The special anniversary edition under the motto Our heart beats green has numerous programme highlights in store for the international trade visitors, including numerous forums, congresses, competitions, tours, live shows, special shows and other side events focussing on current topics in the green industry. These will provide new inspiration for the upcoming business year, while also offering numerous networking opportunities. 

In 2024, IPM ESSEN will again occupy the entire exhibition centre in Halls 1, 1A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the Galeria, with the nations of Belgium, China, Costa Rica, Denmark, France and India, among others will participate with at least one joint stand. Moreover, the BGI Trade Centre in Hall 1 with 31 exhibitors will once again be the focal point for the international plant wholesale trade, while the joint Young Innovators stand in Hall 5, which is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, will be focussing on German start-ups.

In the Green City in Hall 1A, the green trade associations will be presenting themselves in the Horticulture Info Centre and will be available to answer questions from member companies. The adjoining educational show Gardeners can do it! will shed light on the important and controversial topic of plant protection in 2024. 

Hall 1A is also the new home of the IPM Discovery Centre designed by Romeo Sommers in cooperation with the De Haan Group, where the IPM podcast From the Greenhouse will celebrate its premiere. In addition, the IPM Concept Store will be launched in Hall 5 for the second time in a row where sales promoting product ranges such as gifts, candles, cosmetics, spirits and garden gourmet will receive special attention. Commercial vehicles for horticulture will have their own special area at IPM ESSEN for the first time. 

Award ceremonies will also be taking place on the first day of the fair, with the IPM Innovation Showcase. New at IPM ESSEN is the Best Practice Award for the floristry and furnishings sector, which will take place in Hall 5, where all the products submitted will be on display.

Around 1,000 dealers, including more than 140 international representatives from more than 20 countries attended the Zoomlion Agriculture Machinery Global Business Conference held from 28-29 November in Changsha, China

ONE Dubai welcomed international attendees to the Alltech ONE World Tour (ONE), to explore collaborative solutions to the greatest challenges facing the agri-food industry in the Middle East, Africa and beyond


The series of international events bringing the ideas and inspiration of the annual Alltech ONE Conference to the world, resumed on 27 November in Dubai, UAE. The conference provides the opportunity for more people than ever to experience the power of ONE. 

Alltech ONE Dubai features discussions led by local and international experts regarding the latest trends in sustainable agricultural, animal nutrition and business, including presentations from Dr. LyonsTara McCarthy, global vice president of ESG at Alltech; Sheikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi, founding partner at Soma Mater; and Gerald Kiernan, general manager of dairy farms, Emirates Food Industries (EFI).

In his opening remarks, Dr. Lyons welcomed delegates to Dubai to discuss agriculture’s role in saving the planet. McCarthy on the other hand, discussed the findings of the recently released Alltech Sustainability Insights report during her presentation. 

“Our industry is navigating unprecedented disruption yet remains confident and committed to evolving toward a more sustainable food system,” McCarthy said. “The key to success will be the development of innovative solutions, but even more critical is the capacity of the industry to work together across the value chain.”

Sheikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi focussed on how the UAE is making food and agriculture systems more equitable, accessible and sustainable, while Kiernan spoke about Alltech’s and EFI’s recent Planet of Plenty partnership with National Dairy Farms and Masakin Dairy Farms. These two prominent companies owned by EFI bring leading-edge carbon footprint benchmarking and methane-reducing technologies to the Middle East.
